Things to do if you have lost or found a dog:

Place several signs in a 3 mile radius dogs can roam up to 7 miles per day. Check with animal control every other day for at least 30 days.
Have the animal checked for a microchip by any local vet, it is free and can identify the owner. Visit flea markets to see if someone is trying to sell the animal - watch Craigslist for ads also.
Call area vets to see if owner has contacted them Place ad in local newspapers
If full bred, check to see if rescue groups have received the animal Place ads on all the websites above (free)
